Door pull inspired by the Viking age

The design of our Credo door pull grasps both the present and the past.

Being  based in Northern Europe, in the historic Old Town of Vilnius, Lithuania, we have the opportunity to live and work in a UNESCO World Heritage site. BALTICA custom door hardware designs reflect the history which surrounds us.

When creating new product designs, we strive to merge elements of antiquity with the requirements of present day architecture and interior design.

Our design scholarship program in collaboration with the Vilnius Academy of Art challenges design students to create door hardware designs based upon historical Baltic art and culture.

Archaeological research of Baltic jewelry from the early medieval period – also known as the Viking age – offers a vast collection of inspiring artifacts.

Credo door pull - Scandinavia

There are similarities in the design of Viking age jewelry found in Scandinavia and Europe. Viking explorations and voyages were extensive. From the countries today known as Scandinavia, the Vikings traveled south to England, Ireland, France and Spain, and settled there. The Vikings also traveled east and settled in Baltic states of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.

The CREDO door pull was inspired by bronze pin designs of the Viking age.
